A bit off topic, but I thought I would mention it. The Ryzen chips designed for laptop (i.e. 3500U) are still being manufactured on 12nm according to AMD. This is a real bummer because it means that they had to severely limit the the L3 cache (only 4MB) in order to fit the Vega 8 GPU on board. Also the memory speed is only 2400 MHz. Poor chip is fighting with one hand behind its back !

The APUs probably will also be 12nm BTW. The Ryzen 5 3600 up to Ryzen 9 3900X are the first 7nm CPU products from AMD and will remain that way for a while.
The Ryzen 2xxx APUs were also one generation behind the other 2xxx parts. I think that's just going to be the theme with ryzen. APUs use last gen cores. Makes sense I guess when you consider that they're being worked on concurrently, but still sucks. A proper Zen 2 + Navi APU could potentially destroy the budget/esports gaming category.
It's worth noting the APUs were one generation behind even before Ryzen, so they've all been like that. First one came out during Bulldozer & GCN days and didn't have bulldozer cores and didn't have GCN. Steamroller / Excavator APUs are almost an exception, but only because AMD canned any planned AM3+ updates after Piledriver
RATS !! I guess I will just keep limping along on my old laptop with A10-400M until sometime next year !
Kind of kills my interest in a SFF build based on ZEN2 unless I can find a SMALL graphics card.
