Built this to upgrade from a Sager laptop (I7-4700MQ, GTX770M). Main use cases are Lightroom and light gaming (mainly Fallout 4, Factorio etc.).

Now looking for a better cooler than the spire that still fits in the Node 202.

I have a Node 202 build and have also place 2 Noctuas in the GPU chamber. Works like a dream!
For my cooler I am using the Noctua L9 and you can wedge a 25mm fan in there also, this bought CPU temps right down for me.
check my post although photos never worked first time round and new one with Imgur may not have been moderated yet.

The problem with my build is the 2600x is a 95W TDP part so the L9 wouldn't work as it needs good ventilation in the case to keep the temps under control. The 2600x even in stock frquencies, is pushing right up against the max TDP of the L9.

This is very true. The only other option is to mod a part. I looked into the less shallow 65mm cooler (For if and when I use a bigger CPU). I thought about mounting a slim fan to the case, either a 120 or adapt for a 140 to push more out of the heatsink (Rated at 65W for 'silent' operation) but you'd still be 3mm too high so would have to trim some off the fins.

The other option is mini GPU and put a 120mm AIO in the leftover compartment like Bitwit done but it didn't look to easy or graceful

I really feel like the AIO in GPU compartment isn't a solid option when hacking up the case is involved - there *are* air coolers that'll fit in the node 202 that can handle it. I really think Bitwit just did it for the cool factor of saying he watercooled a node 202. Though if you did a custom cpu loop 120mm then you could probably avoid chopping up the case.

For AM4, The ID-Cooling IS-60 and DeepCool Gabriel should both fit. though you might have to find a 15mm fan for the grabriel because the 20mm fan it comes with might be a couple mm too tall.

And if you're considering modding stuff, you could also mod a mounting bracket to fit the Scythe Big Shuriken 2 - it fits just doesn't have an AM4 bracket.

Hi I love your build. I have immediatelly stolen the idea with the 40 mm fans, but i have a question:

How did you plug so many fans into your MOBO? I have a MSI b450 gaming plus ac and it only has a CPU Fan and a case fan port.

I used a Y-Kabel in the case fan port to run the two 40mm fan, could I also run the 120 MM with this?
4 Fans on one port ?
Sound like it wouldn't work but i need to do sth as my GTX970 is heating this thing up immensly. ( Granted, thats probably not the best GPU for this case but it was my first small factor build and it was what i had at hand).

Cheers.

My motherboard actually came with two PWM fan headers (ASRock Fatality B450 ITX). I run two 120mm GPU fans from one header and three 40mm for the CPU from the second header using 'Y' splitters.
