I'm thinking about going for the turemetal tp240 + a 240w brick as my powersupply but am not sure if it will be enough for this set up:

6gb 1060
1x240gb ssd
1x2tb sshd or hdd (9.5mmx7mm seagate)
16gb ram
65 w cpu (ryzen 5 or i7 non k/underclocked k)
Itx board
Low profile cooler

I dont know what a set up like this will actually pull from the wall and if 240W will be enough. Should I lower the cpu draw more/go for a t series. Any advice appreciated.

An hdplex will require me to make my case bigger than I'd like, and a g-unique will cost me ~$250CAD to get it here :/, so I'm hoping a turemetal will do the job.

From what I remember the Turemetal TP240 is a 12V DC board, which means you'll have a hardtime finding a powerful enough AC adapter for your build.
Except if you are willing to mod a 12V Dell DA-2 or spend lots of cash into industrial adapters on Digikey, Mouser...

I would look into G-Unique offer if you are looking for space efficiency.

That is if you stick to a 65W CPU.

Thank you for your reply. I'd have to order the turemetal from one of those chinese ebay like sites, and there are actually a lot 240w 12V bricks on there, so I don't think getting a brick would be an issue. I'm mostly just curious what kind of actual power draw people with similar systems to what I described are seeing. The turemetal is a nice looking unit, it's compact, relatively affordable, and I like the modular cables. I'm mostly just worried about whether 240W is enough or not... that and I can't seem to find any reviews on the turemetal.

The G-unique would be great and offer plenty of headroom. Gurywha knows his stuff too so I wouldn't be worried about reliability or anything if I went with one. I'm just not really eager to drop almost $300 on it though :/.

I just purchased a modded Dell DA-2 brick with a 5.5 DC jack but I am very interested in those 12V adapters you're talking about.
Would you mind sharing a link ?

Regarding the actual power consumption of your setup, I run an i5 6400T with a GTX 1060, a mSata drive and one fan with a single 230W 19V AC adapters.
I can run Prime95 and Valley Bench at the same time without any issue.

yeah, you're running a T series... so saving some power there. Also 1 less drive. But maybe 240W will work for what I'm planning?

Yes it should work. However 5.5 DC barrel connectors are rated for 10A max, sometime 11A.
I am not sure they can handle 240W...

You could ask to the taobao seller.

yeah, that was one thing I'm sort of worried about, but people use the 16.9A 330W brick with the HDplex all the time though and supposedly the slightly larger connector on those bricks is rated for the same. I haven't read anything about hdplex users having issues. None the less it is somewhat worrisome, especially since these are running 20A.

These bricks are cheap enough (and will likely take quite awhile in transit as well) that it might be worth grabbing 2 at a time in case one fails?

Not sure how effective asking questions would be on that site... the sellers amy or may not speak english :)
