I have been playing around with my R5 3600 as time allows. I’m pretty happy with this thing so far.
These are general observations, nothing scientific.

Comparing 2 systems –
2600X Manual 1.39vcore 4.2 OC
3200CL14 LL (dram calculator / ‘fast’)
1050 Ti 1659Mhz @ 925mV
Playing Fortnite - Kill-a-watt reads 200-220w

3600 Manual 1.15vcore 4.0 OC
3200CL14 LL (dram calculator / ‘fast’)
1050 Ti 1659Mhz @ 925mV
Playing Fortnite - Kill-a-watt reads 120-140w

I had to log out of the game and double check everything. Checked out. I didn’t realize the power savings would be this dramatic. I have been using the stock (copper core) Spire. My next stop is to throw my Noctua NH-L9i w/ AMD Bracket on. See how well that HSF holds up.

What was the temperature and clock speed during Fortnite with the 3600? With that voltage it might actually be throttling a bit (you can get Ryzen 3000 "stable" at lower voltages, but it's throttling to compensate). I would check peformance using Cinebench versus stock. A lot of the power savings is coming from that undervolt, at any rate. An offset of -0.1V seems to be the sweet spot if you don't want to sacrifice too much peformance but also want lower power usage and less heat.

Definitely a good CPU. You should be able to cool it fairly well with the L9i, especially with an undervolt.

I hope to get my mitts on a r5 3600 PRO variant, with ECC support. Still haven't seen any for sale though.
