Discussion How do you go about adding new zip-tie holes/mounting points to a case?

SFF cable management sucks. It would be much easier if I could just attach cables to arbitrary points on my case.

I was considering using those adhesive plastic clips that have VHB or whatever on the back, but maybe there's a more professional looking way!

You could try magnets, they are easier to remove, but really expensive and only work on steel cases

I have used various wire anchoring products with adhesive backing in out of sight places. Mount the product and run the wire tie through it. They work well and yet, when it is time to remove the anchor, the adhesive comes off with the anchor even years later. It does take a bit of effort to remove them.

Other than that, get the drill or the Dremel, a file and can of spray paint and make your own cut-outs.

I used the small 12x12mm adhesive cable tie mounts, worked perfectly, barely visible and they basically fit anywhere.
