Slightly optimistic build, I know. I aim to make custom sandwich-style case with steel and aluminium.
Part List:

7950X3D
ID-Cooling Is-30a
Honeywell PC thermal pads
96GB RAM DDR5-6000 CL30
X670E-I Strix (removing heatsink buffoonery)
T700 2TB
Palit GamingPro 4080S (smoll PCB)
500W HDPLEX GaN

So, my current power budget is this:

CPU - 105W
fans+cpu cooler - 15W
RAM - 100W
MB - 30W
SSD - 10W
GPU - 265W

total - 525W

Will 525W MAX be okay for this build on the HDPLEX GaN?
Also, will using the daisy-chained PCIe connector be ok for the 12V-2x6 connector? (GPU comes with 2x8 pins to 16pin)

I run a similar build without issues. 7800X3D/4080S. Your problem will be powering the GPU's 12vhpwr as well as that CPU from the PSU's outputs. It's possible but it might require funky custom cables.

Like, you dont run all of this simultanously. Also, synthetic benchmarks are no real life situation.

Eg. with an all-core encode, its just the CPU being challenged, and a bit of the RAM. Or with gaming, your GPU wont typically pull all the 265W (and with a bit of fine-tuning, eg. UV, it wont even need to), and your CPU will just help out when needed. But even if it would be maxed out, thats still waaay below the 500 W threshold. And so on.

And also, the HDPlex GaN 500W specifications state:
500W(600W Peak)

Which is exactly the OCP of 120% (Over-Current Protection) they state there as well. So even if your system suddenly gets instable AF, and would use the fully maximum 525W, you'd be safe.

I’m looking at a potential build and have the problem you’re talking about. Any more details on how you got around this?

The simple solution (and what I did) is to use a J-Hack m2426 to feed power to the CPU from the GaN’s 24-pin (limited to 75W of course) and then create a custom cable to take power for the GPU’s 12vhpwr from both the GaN’s single PCIe output and single EPS output.

There is a jankier way to do what you want without a J-Hack but it involves taking cpu power from the leftover 12v and ground pins on the GaN.
