So I've recieved mine! Haven't been able to test it yet, but here are some observations:

- There is an extra, very short (7cm) 24pin cable in the box which is not listed on the site as accessory, which will be very welcome addition in cases like the S4 mini and S4 tiny
- The lenght of the CPU power cable is a bit excesive, but it as as listed on the website
- This thing is heavy for its size and feel solid like a truck
- You'll need to add an extra 3mm to the length on the ATX side for the 24pin retention clip
- The C6 inlet has soldered wires but the C14 uses some kind of crimped connector. They're attached very firmly but it's still a scary thought that they can get loose
- The split AC inlet is a nice idea but again I find it a bit scary to have loose live wires in my build when not using it. I'm thinking of soldering my own wire that's not split

Got PSU, has the short 24pin cable as well. The color is very nice in person. 24pin retention clip will indeed protrude when inserted. Generally, I'm not a fan of the wire on the back as well, adds length. Ultimately, you can't count on the length being 170mm, better to have ~180mm length inside the case to be able to mount reliably.

Hi there, just wanted to share what HDPlex shared with me after I inquired about low wattage efficiency:

Thanks for this hmpf, it's a useful enquiry.

Please can you give an idea how this compares to other power supplies, e.g. non-GAN or Pico-PSU?

And does this indicate that the HDPlex GaN is a better option for power-hungry builds 200W+ but less less so for low-power build 100W max where a system may be sitting idle much of the time?

24pin retention clip will indeed protrude when inserted.

Wasn't home when it eventually arrived. Yesterday I finally could finish up my build... The 24pin retention clip had to be removed.

Very happy with the PSU.

The riser is dual reverse and the same length that is needed for a sandwich layout (~18cm). ~1mm to little space between 8Pin cable of the card/24pin on the PSU and 24pin retention clip/case of the PSU.

Sorry I just saw the table got shifted a little and I dont know how to edit posts, so here again:

@lemmo:
Yeah if your rig is very low power, the efficiency drops a lot. unfortunately there is no data point between 1A ( ~12W) and 5A (~60W). I considered using it for my system which will draw ~30W / 2.5A in idle, but I opted for the silverstone SFX PSU which is much cheaper and according to them has 85% efficiency @60W, no lower wattage data is available. The HDPlex might be better at 30W, but I think not so much to justify the extra 100€ price tag. I guess if your system draws >50W it is a no-brainer.

@lemmo Thank you for the info, really would like to know what is going on there. I'm working on a case that is designed around the HDPLEX 250W GaN and187x60x32mm does not fit XD

Oddly enough, another 250W GAN power supply has popped up: the Pico-Box GAN-ATX-250W.

It is slightly bigger than the HDPlex, at 187mm x 60mm x 32mm, but cheaper at $99. Otherwise details are sketchy.

I don't know if Pico-Box are the OEM for the Pico-PSUs and other ITX power supply components, or a copycat, or a distributor...

wonder who would be able to do benchmarks for both this one and HDPlex hahaha
