Has anyone else experienced this? The front panel audio connector won't fit to my mobo

Mobo: asus x570-i strix

was just putting this together the other day, and for all my attempts i can't get it fit on my mobo's connector. ive managed to scratch and rip the shit of the plastic connector. there was some minor bending in my mobo's pins but nothing that snapped off.

is it possible to get a replacement cable?

Are you using the included adapter pigtail that is in the box? The audio header on that board is a mini connector.
