I am hoping someone might be able to help me out. I am looking at the Nidec Servo fans on Taobao. 92mm

Trying to break down the product code to make sure they will work.

D0925C12B4ZSA29

Z = variable speed
S = lock sensor (P would be the one that would be ideal)


If I have it correct, I believe it would be PWM with a lock sensor vs a tach sensor. So it would work but there would be no speed displayed. Does that sound right?

I did find D0925C12B8ZP in the United states. Which is the same fan with higher speed and PWM. But they wanted 125 per fan. It was an industrial/medical parts supply company.

Edit- I forgot to mention that the code breakdown was from a 2008 PDF. I could not find anything more recent.

I ended up taking a chance and bought 3 of them with motherboard 4 pin connectors. Hopefully they work ok.

How much did you pay for them? Are these that much better than the Noctua variant/equivalent?

I'm not sure if they are any better than the Noctua fans. Gentle typhoons were the best 120 fans for radiators until Noctua made the nf a12x25.

I only paid 4.60 usd per fan. And shipping was 35 usd for 3-6 days.

I find a version with PWM control and lock detection (ZS). I find it use the same PCB of ZP version(B4ZP, which is easy to find but a little weak). The PWM PCB has both lock detection and FG circuits and only the needed circuits has components on it. So it is possible to modify the ZS version into ZP version, but it is not easy. You have to figure out the parameters of the components, and some components under the windings are not easy to access.
The price of D0925C12B8ZP I got from a local Nidec agent is about 45＄ each if order 100 pieces. In comparison, Sanyo's 9RA0912P4G001 is about 15＄ each (This one has some moto noise so is not as good as D0925C). Brand new nidec fans is hard to buy, they usually require thousands of orders per year.
