News CRYORIG reveals all-copper versions of their coolers

PC Cooling innovator CRYORIG, is announcing two new CPU cooling projects ahead of Computex 2017. The CRYORIG R5 high-end single tower and the Cu Series of Copper Fin enhanced coolers. The R5 and Cu Series will both make their debut in the coming Computex 2017 from May 30th to June 3rd.

An all-copper C7 is pretty exciting considering the limited options in its height range. I hope we'll see some reviews soon.

Yes! And from what I read in their press release (http://www.cryorig.com/news.php?id=74&page=1), the C7 CU will actually be the first they'll launch.

Quote: "The CRYORIG C7 will be the first cooler to receive the Cu enhanced treatment, with further products to be announced later."

As someone who doesn't have any experience with copper heatsinks, does anyone have any guesses on what kind of performance increase (if any) we can expect from these?

I'm glad they decided to do this before I paid up the prototyping and tooling fees on my KMPKT heatsink. I'll be curious to see how good the performance is on this unit as it doesn't look like they changed any of the design elements that made the original version a subpar performer. The side "zippers, lots of airflow occlusion with the S-patterned heat pipes, crappy fan and no conduction from the base to the fins outside of the heat pipes are all design weaknesses from what I can see.

I've referenced this several times and I know it's only one dataset, but the difference between the LP53 (25mm tall copper finned heatsink) and the L9i (23mm tall aluminum finned heatsink) is pretty significant at 6-7 degrees Celsius on most tests.

Black on copper would look a lot better indeed, but those parts shouldn't be hard to spray-paint with a good plastic primer and some flexible paint.

Perhaps you got a bad sample? I hardly notice mine (i57500) and it's on the side of the DAN-A4 case facing me (fully-ventilated panel).
