I take it, from there, you were able to use the software from the website to config it how you like?

Its all done in Aida64.



This allows me to connect to the panel, then I can set sensor item and options in the nested menu's.

Oh wow, neat. Is there any background tasks with it or resources being used by AIDA?

I don’t think I fully understand your question, do you mean are there any additional software requirements?

If so, I don’t think so. It’s just collating all the sensors available and presenting them to you to display.
