ASRock, frequently known for cramming a lot of hardware into a small space, has done it again, cramming an Intel Socket E (LGA4766) onto a “Deep” M-ATX board. To get the “Deep” nomenclature out of the way first, this board measures in at 264 x 266mm, larger in both dimensions compared to regular M-ATX at 244 x 244mm. The *takes a deep breath* ASRock Rack W790D8UD-1L1N2T/BCM is a dense unit with a tonne of expansion.
8x RAM slots, 4x PCIe 5.0 slots (all 16x CPU lanes), 2x 10GbE LAN, 1x 2.5GbE LAN and 1x 1GbE LAN ports give the board some epic IO and expandability. While boards like this will likely end up with a discrete drive controller slotted in, the board does come with 8 SATA 6GB/s ports and a lone M.2 slot. Also...
