A time for something different...

Hello y'all!

I'm a long time PC builder & started building my own computers in my youth with a 486SX/25 as my first self-built PC. There have been many built since for me, friends & family, but they've all been built in relatively large cases. I'm now planning for something different, my first SFF build + my first AIO and I'm planning to jump in the deep end... I'm hoping I can get my hands on a FormD T1 and I'm hoping to cram as much performance I can into the case and upgrade to a custom loop at some point. Here's my build list as it stands currently (subject to change):
  • CPU: AMD Zen 3 5950x + 240mm AIO (Corsair H100i Pro XT + 15mm fans)
  • MB: Asus X570-I Gaming (ITX)
  • RAM: 2x8gb DDR4000 CL15 G.Skill Ripjaws V (wondering if I'll have clearance issues, but if I do, I'll hacksaw my way through it...)
  • GPU: Asus TUF Gaming RTX 3090 OC
  • Drives: 1 x M.2 Samsung 980 PRO 1TB / Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 1TB/2TB
  • Case: FormD T1
  • PSU: Corsair SF750 / Silverstone SX750
  • Display: LG 38WN95C 38" UW 1ms IPS 144Hz
My current rig is nothing small, but just in case someone would be wondering what I'm upgrading from:
  • CPU: Intel i7-7700k @ 5GHz, (delid) w/ Noctua NH-D14
  • MB: Asus Maximus IX Hero
  • RAM: 32GB (G.Skill Trident Z 4 x F4-3200C14 8GB. 3200 MHz, CL14)
  • GPU: Asus GTX 1080 (OC: 1900MHz, Mem: 10914MHz)
  • Drives: 1 x M.2 Samsung SSD 960 PRO 512GB, 1 x SATA Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB
  • Case: Antec Three Hundred Two
  • Display: Asus 27" PG278Q 1440p 144Hz G-Sync
Looking forward to joining the community & sharing experiences with y'all!

Welcome to the forum ! That's a lot of performance in a tight space ! But the FormD T1 is also an impressive case.

Thanks! I've been waiting to upgrade for a while now (since RTX 20 cards came out I decided to jump on the wagon with the next generation of cards) and as time has gone by my budget and ambitions have just grown... Now I want something that's super small & powerful. I travel quite frequently (domestically) and lugging a full ATX case with me is not practical. For travel purposes I will need to get some other things too, a portable display such as this one: (lugging a 38" UW around is also not practical) & mini mechanical keyboard.

Would've loved an FE from a pure aesthetic perspective! I'm hoping the TUF card has better thermals than the FE in the T1, but I haven't seen any tests so far pitting the FE against the TUF in a sandwich case.
