Well, here we are 7 mos. later, and they're back to about that price. I still couldn't afford it, but I got me one anyway.
I'm afraid by the time I actually build out this machine, it'll be out-dated.

I know it's super awesome having 1Tb of ultra fast m2 stick memory and all (also I don't know if your planned build allows 2.5" drives...) Since money tends to be an issue for almost everyone, perhaps you don't need so much space for your primary drive? In my case I have found the balance with that same 970 Pro, but the 250Gb version for OS and all my software. Then I have 1Tb of 860 EVO exclusively for games and 2Tb of regular spinny boi for storage, downloads and so.

For sure, it's all about what suits your needs, and I need to do it all on one drive.
