    "SFF" Keyboards

The Ducky TKL has some cheap crystal keycaps I found on Ebay for like $20 lol. They look pretty awesome but definitely feel cheap. The Reviung39 has Signature Plastics DSA keycaps that I just mix 'n' matched. (Pimp My Keyboard website) The Daisy 40% has Winmix OSA Dolch keycaps. I don't...

    What did you do today?

Last night and this morning I got my 486 ultimate gaming laptop finally setup/working. I had to replace the LCD panel since the old one (actually two others) was failing. They have an issue where the glue separates from the PCB that hold on all the column line signals, then you get vertical...

    Motherboard Industrial Motherboard Thread

Here you go.. I got home early from work and I was able to have time to open it up. :) I could still add another ISA card in there, or two if I removed the USB ports -- I suppose I could relocate USB to the I/O blanks at the rear. Rear: Top-down view: Side view: Rear side of the SBC: I...

    Motherboard Industrial Motherboard Thread

There's really not much to see on the inside -- it is super cramped. The whole bottom is an AT power supply, then a plain 4-slot 16-bit ISA backplane is on top of that with the two cards plugged in. If I have time this weekend, I'll take the cover off and get a picture for you.

    Motherboard Industrial Motherboard Thread

Here's my Pentium MMX 233MHz retro gaming PC. (using a Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold for sound) The motherboard is a Half-ISA SBC, an Advantech PCA-6751 connected to a 4-slot ISA backplane in this little case. The CRT is a 10" Bridgeview VS-10S.

    3DFX Voodoo 5 Shuttle

I've been getting into retro hardware a little more over the past year, so I figured I'd share my Voodoo 5 build. - Shuttle SK43G Chassis - Shuttle FX41 Motherboard (from a SK41G, since it has Universal AGP) - AMD Athlon XP 3000+ - 1GB Corsair XMS Platinum DDR400 - 3DFX Voodoo 5 5500 AGP -...

    Cooling Quick release fittings

That datasheet is pretty much useless for trying to compare, since it isn't high enough resolution to see the lower flow rates and pressure drops. You're wanting to look at 7.5 liters/min (2GPM) versus pressure drop in PSI (1 bar = 14.5 psi). That is covered in the first dozen or so pixels of...

Power Supply Experience with staggered spin-up

3 amps on what? 12V or 5V wire? On spin up, the average modern mechanical hard drive will draw 1.5-2.0 amps on the 12V wire and 500-700mA on the 5V wire. Usually max load read/write/seek combined is under 500mA on the 5V and under 1 amp on the 12V. You'll have to make sure the power supply can...

    IWILL ZMAXDP Power Supply Replacement

Surprisingly, it came looking brand new. Hardly a spec of dust even on the inside. The seller said it was barely used and he was the sole owner. Use case is early 2000's workstation software, era appropriate games, and just because of the rare factor of owning one in my collection of older...

    IWILL ZMAXDP Power Supply Replacement

I so recently obtained an IWILL ZMAX-DP Dual Opteron "shuttle" size PC. Part way into the Windows XP install, the power supply blew. It was caused by a crappy molex splitter that had a high resistance connection. The original power supply is a Channel Well (CWT) T43B014 (300w / 350w peak). This...
