I'd recommend getting a Corsair Commander Pro. One added benefit, other than getting more control over your fans/pumps, is never having to worry about how many fan headers a motherboard comes with.
Would it fit above the SSD tray? You could also try to mount it horizontally. I stuck a velcro command strip on the back of my Commander Pro in case I need to remove it temporarily.
I have a Commander Pro mounted behind the front panel on my 560. I assume this is possible on the 580? If you can mount the Commander Pro then it should have all the required ports to get your fan, rgb and AIO running without any additional hubs.
The SF600 Platinum comes with some Corsair-branded velcro ties. I was able to wrap up my cables and arrange them in a way where I did not need a grill on my fan. It's still tight and required some trial and error on my part but I'm pretty happy with the results.
I know that KSliger suggested that you have the fans as exhaust but with my configuration I have found that setting both fans as intake work better for the 645. I've tested with vented panels as well as a windowed panel on the CPU side. With the fans as exhaust, I was seeing temps in the 70s on...
Yikes, sorry to hear that your temps are still high without the panel on. It seems that AMD cards tend to run warm and the 5700 and XT seem to continue that trend. I was constantly stressing about temps when I had a Asus Strix Vega 64. I tried replacing the fan with 15mm Noctuas, and messing...
Sounds like your GPU is starving for air especially since it isn't a blower-style card and just dumping the warm air into the case. Any thoughts on putting a vented panel on the GPU side? You could test with the panel off as the vented panels are so open that they are comparable to running...
So after weeks of tinkering with my SM560, I think I've gotten it to a state that I'm happy with. Contrary to what has been discussed in this thread, I actually get better temps when I have my fans running as intake. I'm using a 645LT with vented panels. I was seeing temps in the 70-75 range on...
I just got my 3700x yesterday, on a x470-i and it's been nothing but trouble for me. I spent most of the day troubleshooting and eventually gave up and reinstalled Windows 10 to find that the issues I was having were still present. I'm back up and running now after a couple things:
Had to...
It's not a requirement if you plan on running 120mm fans. It's mainly to mount the Asetek 645LT cleanly but still not a requirement if you'd prefer to get creative with your mounting. For example, I'm using washers against the fan grille while I wait for my fan adapter.
