My hope is that AMD will release a Ryzen 3 7xxx that will run at 65W with no tuning. With larger caches and DDR5, this would likely beat most of today's 5000 Series chips.

Not exactly ! When the Zen 3 part supply dries up, there won't be any 65W CPU/APU available ! AMD needs something to compete with their own 5700G, which is currently selling for $235 on Amazon !

The rumor mill on SFF MoBo using AM5 has been very quiet !

With all of the recent AMD announcements, there should be a real shake up in the SFF marketplace. New SFF products using AM5 socket will probably not ship in volume until 2023.

I find that statement hard to believe ! Most CRTs have gone to their grave. I have. +15 year old LCD display and it has VGA and HDMI. Having read about the 100°C VRMs/MOSFETs I wouldn't touch that board !

RATS !! I guess I will just keep limping along on my old laptop with A10-400M until sometime next year ! Kind of kills my interest in a SFF build based on ZEN2 unless I can find a SMALL graphics card.

A bit off topic, but I thought I would mention it. The Ryzen chips designed for laptop (i.e. 3500U) are still being manufactured on 12nm according to AMD. This is a real bummer because it means that they had to severely limit the the L3 cache (only 4MB) in order to fit the Vega 8 GPU on board...
