The videos of the cases being CNC-machined in Sweden is also interesting. The idea of CNC'ing the Mjolnir was suggested a while ago, so it is interesting to see Louqe using CNC and producing the cases locally in Sweden. They are claiming 200 cases/wk.
I'll pass on the hype - too many unexpected delays. I'm looking forward to the cases being completed, but I'm not anticipating anything before May 1, just to avoid disappointment. I expect something or other will be held up in customs, or Post Nord will lose something important in the mail, or...
I made this spreadsheet, and posted it here in Dec 2019. I've tried to keep it updated as new AIOs are introduced.
Unfortunately, the Asus Strix LC 120 AIO is listed as 121mm wide. It is possible that it might fit if there is sufficient margin in the tolerances between case and radiator. Won't...
A curated list of 120mm AIO coolers is available.
The limiting radiator dimensions are 157mm x 120mm x 34mm (assuming a 25mm fan). The pump block height is also limited to ~51mm (maybe 52-53mm if you can install the block after inserting the core), which eliminates several popular coolers...
Both the Gigabyte Turbo 3090 and MSI Aero 3090 24G are two slot blower cards and will fit in Mjolnir. The Gigabyte Turbo is known to be very noisy; we don't yet know about the MSI card, which features an additional 'cooling heatsink'. Generally, 2-slot blower cards ARE hotter, because they can...
120mm AIO spreadsheet
Yes, added the Be Quiet Pure Loop 120. As you mention, the pump is mounted on the tubing:
This unique pump mounting location MIGHT NOT fit in Mjolnir - it might interfere with PSU cables, AIO fan or simply cause too much stress on the tubing. It is an option to look at...
List of 120mm AIOs for Mjolnir here:
Dimensions taken from manufacturer's web pages. Note that how well an AIO fits may depend on length/stiffness of tubing, orientation of pump block and connectors, potential interference with motherboard RAM, VRM heatsinks, etc. Note that many AIOs have...
When do you anticipate having an updated schedule for production? When do you expect to set a new date for delivery? You have made additional design changes since the Kickstarter - when will you confirm with the factory there are no production issues or challenges with those new changes?
The engineering diagram shows a total pump block height including mounting screws for backplate as being 52mm. The height above the CPU when mounted and tightened down might be less than 51mm. I'll hold out hope for a 'maybe' on this one. Sure looks like a neat pump design.
I think the change to magnetic side panels and a modular front cap will open up the possibility of many more customization options. Low TDP CPU? Switch to a smaller vent pattern. Need more airflow for cooling? Switch to an open front cap or one with a fan in front.
I added columns for radiator material and tube length. It looks like the Alphacool Eisbaer LT120 is the only AIO with a copper radiator available. Of course, there are copper 120mm radiators for custom loops, but I don't think there is much benefit building a custom loop with only a CPU block...
The Captain 120EX radiator will fit, but the pump block will not (~85mm tall).
Agreed! I made a Google Docs spreadsheet with the 120mm AIOs I could find:
120mm AIOs for Mjolnir
Using the radiator dimensions of 157x120x34mm (assuming a 25mm thick fan and flipped PSU) and a max height for the...
Looks great so far. I think the cube shape can work well with the ITX form factor, and can offer some very interesting designs. Not clear from the photos how the case and inner core go together. Please keep us updated.
