News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

Just wanted to pop in and share that the Gigabyte 4060 will fit inside an ML09 when deshrouded. But just barely! I'm using two Noctua fans (NF-A8 PWM chromax and NF-A6x25 PWM) fastened to the case's fan mounts for the cooling, with washers added to push the fans as close to the heatsink as...

News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

It's all good! I can't blame you since temps were good enough for you with the OC BIOS. I'd be looking at stress tests for potential worst-case scenarios. As long as the test is good and proven, it'll work. I've been using OCCT (both 3D Standard at load and 3D Adaptive at Extreme) for most of...

News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

That's awesome! Do you recall what the temperature difference for the OCed BIOS was for you compared to the stock BIOS, by any chance? I wanna know what kind of thermal headroom there'd be for deshrouded solutions.

News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

Looks great! Tight fit for the fans (as expected), but entirely workable. It'd have been nice if the shroud were more like this to begin with. I thought I'd ask you since you're here: What do you personally think of the performance of the deshrouded RTX 4060 LP with two Noctua NF-A6x5 PWM fans...

News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

I know I just said that I'd be good with changing to a case that'll fit this card unmodified... but I can't lie. I'd be real interested to hear how this project turns out! Having even a proof-of-concept 4060 LP that can fit in these smaller cases without modifying the case and be cooled decently...

News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

Thanks for the response, that's good info to know in the future if I ever consider deshrouding a GPU. Doesn't look like it'll be this time, though. And I think I'm fine with that. I have to upgrade pretty much every part in my PC, anyways, so I may as well change cases, too.

News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

To respond to the second part first: After inserting 25mm-thick 80mm fans, there'd be less than 5mm space between the side of the ML09 and the deshrouded GPU, maybe as little as 2mm. The reason I asked that is because I didn't know if the more convenient route of just screwing the fans into the...

News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

I was actually thinking about getting this card for my ML09 build myself. Doing some measurements, it seems like you can just fit the card in the system without removing the USB/audio ports if you deshroud the GPU. Which actually brings up my own question: would installing two 25mm-thick 80mm...

News NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Launching April 2019

For what it's worth, the Zotac card in and of itself is great. However, the sound comments are very real. When it reaches past 70% load, it's like a jet engine. Well, not literally, but you get what I mean. It's a lot like the PS3's fan when it's at load. You can hear the fan even at idle. If...

Smallest case that supports optical drive and dual-slot low-profile GPU?

This case was posted on the last page. It's a curious case, for sure. It's definitely something that others should look into. I'm just not 100% sold on it as of now. I probably won't buy a new case in the near future, I'm looking to mess around with my PC as-is for awhile. The album wasn't...

Smallest case that supports optical drive and dual-slot low-profile GPU?

You're on a tear finding these cases! I've never heard of any of them or their manufacturers. What's wild is how old these cases seem to be. Their USB ports are either 2.0 or nonexistent. The crazier part is that they actually support full-size GPUs! Well, ITX-size, that is. These cases would...

Smallest case that supports optical drive and dual-slot low-profile GPU?

No worries about that. I can live with my case for now, I'm probably not changing out any hardware for the foreseeable future. This thread was mainly for seeing if there's anything out there now that'll work with what I'm looking for. I appreciate the offer, though! Not sure how I feel about...

Smallest case that supports optical drive and dual-slot low-profile GPU?

That's frustrating. You'd think that a company would want to capitalize on a market that wants to build PCs roughly the size of game consoles that also have at least the amount of features that a game console has (AKA a decently powerful GPU and an optical disc drive). I understand that you'll...

Smallest case that supports optical drive and dual-slot low-profile GPU?

Correct. I'd like to use the smallest case possible for my gaming HTPC. The current case I'm using has everything I need (and then some). The purpose of this thread is to see if there's something out there that's smaller than what I've got now that can fulfill all its duties similarly.

Smallest case that supports optical drive and dual-slot low-profile GPU?

Well, that now makes three times that this drive has been linked in this thread! ? Again, it working with BD-XL discs doesn't assure that it will work nicely with copyrighted, studio-released 4K Ultra HD movie discs. I haven't found anything confirming that it does. Very cool, indeed. It is a...
