ZOTAC at Computex 2017 – Small Prebuilts and VR Galore!

ZOTAC, one of the originators in the Mini-ITX and SFF world, was present at Computex 2017 showing off a few small PCs, a small(ish) eGPU case, some VR stuff, and the next iteration of the GTX 1080 Mini that Drew reviewed earlier this year – the ZOTAC GTX 1080 Ti! Yes, that is the exact cooler as on the GTX 1080 Mini that Drew guessed was possibly capable of handling the GTX 1080 Ti! Underneath the identical shroud sits a different PCB though – with beefier VRMs to cope with the more powerful GPU. Dual 8-pin power connectors are a hint …

MSI Nightblade and Trident – CES 2017

MSI only had a couple of SFF products on display at CES, but what they did have, was very interesting. Bringing along their Nightblade MI3 and Trident3 systems to show everyone. Both systems are based on Kaby Lake i7 processors, and are both targeted at VR gaming. [mks_separator style=”blank” height=”2″] The Nightblade MI3 spec list. AMD at CES 2017

AMD, the underdog of the CPU and GPU worlds, made itself known at CES, with a large booth, various displays, and some impressive demos – namely Doom at 4K! Our reporter Drew visited the displays and brought us back these pictures: [mks_separator style=”blank” height=”2″] The booth was spacious, with many displays and demos. [mks_separator style=”blank” height=”2″] First up, a new M-ATX AM4 from Gigabyte, the GA-A320M-HD2. This board fits the bill of a mid-range board, with a solid complement of rear I/O, two DDR4 RAM slots, but no VRM cooling. Colorful motherboard with integrated GTX 1070 pictured

TechPowerUp forum user TheLostSwede snapped a few pictures of some very interesting motherboards from Colorful‘s booth at Computex. They are custom Intel B150 motherboards with a LGA 1151 socket and most importantly, an integrated NVIDIA GPU in the form of either a GTX 980 or GTX 1070! Basically it’s a combination of an ITX-esque motherboard and a MXM card. Here is the sign for the Colorful/Chaintech B150-G20. Despite the model number, it seems this board is available in a Z170 variant. Most importantly though is that this board has an integrated NVIDIA GTX 980! Talk about packing some beefy onboard video. The reason for the hefty hardware …
