Nice, the cooler seems to stay within the reference PCB height.

Perhaps even shorter. I believe the reference height on nvidia boards is 4.7 or 4.8 inches and this one is 4.37 inches. If you compare it to a reference board you can see that this one barely protrudes above til he PCIe bracket.

And presumably less crazy power spiking than the R9

Shorter cooler height... looks better than the Gigabyte already.

Great stuff, this should rival an R9 Nano at a much lower TDP?

RX 480 OC'd has been able to slightly beat the Nano, 1060 stock is said to be about ~15% better than the stock 480, so yeah, those odds of matching the Nano are very good.

I'm honestly thinking for some of the UCFF or near-UCFF cases being designed around here these days (Brevis S, Hahutzy, etc), the 1060 might end up being the preferred card. 120W TDP and 980 performance is a pretty sweet spot for anything 1440 Ultra or under. Pretty much guarantees you're going to stay at or under 250W. I'm personally waiting on the 250 HDPlex AC-DC to go with the 250W HDPlex DC-DC. Larry said all measurements are the same as the 160W but it is 14mm taller. Should be sweet.

This would sound silly but I want to watercool one, in a small Steam Machine like case. Think the layout of the H2O Micro but with a bigger radiator and case. But I kinda miss watercooling anyways :p

Yes, very much so! To be quite honest, with the choice between an RX 480 and a GTX 1060, I'm not sure I'd ever be going for the 1070. Right now the biggest concern with uSFF systems is noise, and reducing TDP of the GPU will help greatly with that.

I've already checked and the board looks to be the same layout as a reference 670/970 so if you have existing water blocks they SHOULD work. I'll be paying the idiot's premium for one of these on the 19th for a build I've been planning for the last two years.
