It will not be just motherboards. Price of graphics cards will go up this year. In fact, if this article is correct, gpu and motherboards are not the only ones. Other components will follow suit.

Whoever can put 3 m.2's on an ITX board first will be getting my money. Hopefully that happens this gen or next.

The scale of this hike is not that surprising to me.
Locally, the price increase from their Z390-i to Z490-i mobo was about 65 USD. And, this round (going from Z490-i to Z590-i) is about the same. I wonder, if Z690-i (with DDR5...etc) would sell at 430 USD?
Mini-ITX mobos are becoming more for 'rich' enthusiasts rather than just for enthusiasts.

Could also be their way of saying 'BTW have you considered our NUC lineup?'

I don't want to get too far off topic, but prices on these boards will be on the rise, especially considering the supply chain. Here are 2 other decent alternatives:

ASROCK H570M-ITX/ac
ASROCK's B560 offering looks like @$$ and will certainly throttle top-end intel chips. The board linked at least has a true 8 phase VRM (advertised) but only offers AC Wifi. I do really like that both M.2 slots are accessible from the front; it's something unique to these ASROCK boards.

ASUS ROG STRIX B560-i Gaming Wifi
ASUS offers a paired 8 phase here (a doubled 4 phase), but they have pulled this off very successfully before. They also offer Wifi 6 with this board and a built-in IO shield.

The ONLY reason I'm suggesting these boards are that they will be capable of RAM OC. That was shown to be the biggest limiting factor on Intel's budget chips. I can imagine that a 11400 paired with +4000 RAM and an unlimited P1 state would be an amazing gaming combo.

Does anyone know if the Alpenfohn Blackridge fits the Z-590I. It says compatible on pc part picker but I feel like the m.2 cover and vram heat sink might be in the way.
