Windows 10 font/scaling/dpi

I have only been running Win 10 Pro (1803) for a few months and I still do not like it much.
One problem is the lack of adjustment for font size and related settings.
Gone is the Win 7's ''Window Color And Appearance''. It seems Win 10 can only do a global dpi scaling, with 100% as the recommended. But the problem is, if I change that to 125% or 150%, some applications (eg OpenOffice Writer) will have blurry/fuzzy font/text. If I keep it at 100%, font/text is too small in a lot of places.

So, how do you guys deal with this issue?
I am running 2560x1600 (30'' monitor) and. if not adjusted, this default/recommended 100% dpi scaling is just giving me tiny text/font.
I will start searching for a good solution and will post my findings.

This is the approach that I am using now:-
Slide up Windows' DPI scaling from 100% (recommended) to 125%. This makes everything on the desktop (icons, icon titles, task bar..etc) bigger.
For those applications that have blurry texts/fonts due to this increase, go to 'Properties' of that program and disable the Windows' scaling. This basically brings the software back to 100%. Then, I use the program's own scaling to increase the font size.
