Hello! I have made a fan swap like the one on this post: Cooler Master V850 SFX PSU Fan Swap, using the same adapter and fan in the OP post.

But the fan spins really loud even with the noctua fan, i know its from the PSU because if I stop the fan with an object my PC become silent.
Its like the PSU don't control the fan speed correctly, so I think of connecting the fan on the motherboard and control myself.

What you guys think?

Thanks!

Update:

I have done the mod and control the fan via the software FanControl, based on the GPU temperature and so far so good :)

The next step would probably be to get some kind of small thermal / temperature sensor - idealy more than just one - you'd attach eg. to the inner and outer side of the PSU casing, maybe also to the fan intake.

Maybe something for Arduino? A quick search brought up quite a few pages. That'd be a nice side project, ie. to create something replicable, so one could use this with other unruly PSU fans, eg. FSP or the notorious Lian Li SFX.
