I am searching an testing PSUs and cases since 5 months, in that time I bought about ten different PSUs SFX or Flex or TFX. In production we use Seasonic only.
Everything beside Seasonic it tested was somehow crap or very loud. I found out to avoind TFX or Flex, but now I need a very silent Flex ATX PSU with about 350 Watt bigger dosent matter price also. I know there is geekstore, but I want to avoid midified units because of legal issues.
So hwat I tested in Flex so far was Siverstone FX 350-G which is vry loud, it seams the even use ballbearing.
I am pretty sure that I have a Seasonic PSU in one of our Server which is also loud and on thei page they write that all habe double ball bearing fans: https://seasonic.com/sub The SUB has at least a ZeroFan mode, what I gues that does not help very long since its 300 Watt only anyway.
EDIT: Found Problems with on/off spinning up fan: https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/seasonic-ssp-300sub-300w-flex-atx-modular-psu.3308/
https://seasonic.com/sug
Same goes with FSP https://www.fsplifestyle.com/PROP197003673/ also double ball bearing, they say its low like 20dB but thta fully depends on the frequency and kind of singal.
Enhance say nothing about the Fans http://www.enhanceusa.com/upload/DM/201309280858101.pdf which means LOUD
Then I found some other OEM like Shuttle and Inter-Tech etc.
But there must be something?
I know FLex has a bad formfactor with 40mm only, bute at least Noctua Fans are ok, even with 3000rpm.
Any ideas?
