I am an SFF enthusiast by heart rather than by builds, but I have designed and built a couple cases from wood and am looking to diversify to other materials.

Welcome to the forum ! Wood is an interesting material but often comes with it's limitations with lower thickness. That's why it's often combined with aluminium which allows similar workflow but much lower thickness to achieve rigid structures. What materials are you thinking of ?
