So since i'm going to build a s4 mini i will also use it at school instead of an overpriced gaming laptop. But the only issue i have is i can't carry a 24" monitor aswell on my bicycle.

I was thinking about to buy a cheap laptop and taking it apart just for the screen. Not really into doing this kinda stuff but are there any solutions? I was also thinking about an ipad which i saw on the forums but that's a bit too small. Just looking for a 13 inch panel.

That will likely be better than a DIY solution. What USB standard does it use?

Just USB type a, but the problem with the screens is the response time, which is 11ms. Might get the Gaemz m155 it's a portable gaming monitor, since the only thing i do at school is gaming and watch some video's.

What is the maximum size you're looking for? There are some monitors available in the 20.7" format which is a bit bigger than a standard school binder.

Did you take a look at these ?

13.3" 720p TN 8ms panel : https://www.gechic.com/en-portable-monitor-onlap1303a-specification.html
13.3" 1080p IPS 14ms panel : https://www.gechic.com/en-portable-monitor-onlap1303h-specification.html

They have other size too from 11.6" to 15.6" and touchscreen. Biggest advantage is HDMI connection. But they are pricey

I owned this one : https://www.gechic.com/en-portable-monitor-onlap1101p-specification.html
It's a 11.6" 1080 IPS 14ms panel. Image quality is realy good, sharp, good contrast and nice color with anti Glare treatment so it's realy good outside. Integrated front cover and stand are very usefull.

I tested some game on it, Diablo 3, League of legends and Anno 2205, gaming experience is good. However I didn't try FPS game so i don't know for fast game.

Seems like solid options, using a standard display interface :)

Wouldn't recommend as well, used it before, super flimsy and felt like it would break easily in my backpack. Additionally it uses a crappy onboard graphics module to transfer graphics over USB. No gaming would really work on this thing. The GeChic 15.6 inch I have is pretty decent build quality, and comes with a thick plastic cover. The built in magnetic stand is also acceptable as well, although if you need finer adjustment might want to consider an aftermarket one. The gechic monitors are a bit pricey, but at least then you can actually use the power of your GPU.

Reminds me of @PlayfulPhoenix philosophy about SFF, especially the part about being able to spend more on less, and be altogether more satisfied because you'll actually put what you get to use :)
