Motherboard Minisforum launches Mini-ITX Motherboard with Ryzen 7 7745HX Mobile CPU at $399

While Minisforum is better known for their Mini-PCs, it looks like they're now branching out into MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) Mini-ITX motherboards.

MINISFORUM BD770i – Minisforum

The BD770i has a soldered 8-core Ryzen 7 7745HX and includes a heatsink, and mounting holes for your choice of 120mm fan. It seems fairly well priced at what may be an introductory price of $399.

I'm personally interested in the more powerful 16-core Ryzen 9 7945HX or hopefully 7945HX3D option which should be available soon.

I saw this yesterday on the Reddit SFF. Pity it has no Sata ports, 2 would have been nice. Otherwise it's a great product.
Why they don't do the same thing with a Phoenix based product is beyond me. There's big demand for that. Dragon Range probably has plentiful supply over Phoenix.

Some fun facts
For height clearance you need a case with 37mm clearance with no fan, 52mm with a 15mm fan and 62mm with a 25mm fan.

For cases I would consider something with a 70mm height clearance, so for example the Silverstone SG13 with an SFX PSU, the SGPC K66 V3 or the Cooler Master NR200.

As for the GPU if used, RTX 30 series cards are reasonable now on eBay or if new there's the RTX 4070?

I would like to try/see this in my custom case project "k3.93L"... the exhaust would make it perfect.

(Hm,.. AM5 board alone is ~300€).

Size would be 4L or 5L and any GPU up to 2.5-slot <180mm or <235mm.

CPU cooler height might be perfect too :/*

Depends on the case. The one's I listed all use full height, so go with what's affordable and fits with the cases spec.

I'm thinking of getting one of these for my Louqe Ghost S1 as it should fit nicely with a Noctua A12x25.

I'm hoping to squeeze my existing EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 into the S1 for now and hold out for an RTX 5070 in a year or so.

That's unfortunate, can't be used in a Velka 3/5 without leaving the side panel off.

Yeah, it’s a pity it won’t fit in certain popular cases like the Velka especially considering both M.2s are on the front.

Kind of wished I still had my Lone L5 for this.

It would have to be, max 39mm fan height.

For Densium APU , with no GPU (or just a single slot low profile when used with HD Plex) you should be able to fit a 25mm wide 120mm fan. As there is 67mm for CPU cooler
