ideal connectors placement on motherboard

What are you ideal connector placement (sata, usb, 24pin, front panel...) for m-itx motherboards?

Mine depends on the layout of the case. If there is a front intake fan, then all the bulky connectors (24pin, usb3) should be at the top.
Ideally, the socket should be near the center, and the ram slots should be horizontal so it doesn't block the airflow.
there should be sata ports at the top and front.

Lately, i'm avoiding layouts where the 24pin is placed too close (i.e.: facing each other) to the memory slots. The HDPlex 160w DC-ATX is "space hungry" and favors motherboards where the RAM slots are perpendicularly oriented to the 24 pin.
