Hi everyone,
I’ve been following the custom case and SFF scene for a while and finally decided to jump in. I’m currently moving away from traditional enclosures to prototype a vertical, wall-mounted layout.
My main focus right now is the 'mechanical' side of the build. I'm looking at custom-mounting components to a non-standard substrate (wood/composite) and trying to solve for:
I'm a big fan of the fabrication work that happens here, so I'm looking forward to learning from the experts on how to keep custom layouts stable and safe.
Cheers,

My main focus right now is the 'mechanical' side of the build. I'm looking at custom-mounting components to a non-standard substrate (wood/composite) and trying to solve for:
- Structural Load: Managing the cantilever weight of modern GPUs on vertical brackets.
- Grounding: Ensuring a common ground across a non-conductive backboard.
- Cable Routing: Designing clean, bulkhead-style pass-throughs to keep the footprint as slim as possible.
I'm a big fan of the fabrication work that happens here, so I'm looking forward to learning from the experts on how to keep custom layouts stable and safe.
