Hello and welcome to our forum ! Many people let their wallets flex as far as possible with SFF but it can also be approached cost-effectively. While very low quality components like 30$ power supplies and 40$ motherboards will be hard to find in the SFF space, you can still make a tiny SFF machine out of an AMD Ryzen APU or last gen hardware.
