Since this is the tallest card in all the land and I know at least a few of you have it, could anyone please tell me the total height from top of PEG connector to bottom of PCIe socket (or in my case PCIe socket on a riser cable). I am assuming it's about 135mm, but would just like some confirmation since I am often wrong about these things.

From the top of the power connector to the bottom of the pcie slot (where it meets the motherboard) is 124mm, though the power connector is recessed.

Give or take an RCH.

Okay. So with a PEG in and wires sticking out the top, 135 is a very fair bounding box for this card (ie. you could install the card comfortably with 140mm of space?).

I had an issue with the height of this card so I found someone to create custom 8-pin low profile cable for me, now he is offering the cable to be purchased as well as other variants.

Here's a photo of the 1070 in my IN-WIN 901, essentially it's just a custom length 8-pin with the bottom of the connector notched to allow cable to bend.
