Concept Custom SFF NAS

I'm thinking about trying to design a SFF NAS case for the build I'll use a mini itx board a slim air cooler for the cpu 4 3.5 inch HDDs and maybe one 2.5 inch SSD, probably will use an hdplex power supply with an external brick to keep the box as small as possible.

Did anyone designed anything similar before? or can someone provide some guidelines for a first timer.

I'm not aware of NAS built for HDPlex, but there are a couple Flex ATX 4x3.5in NAS units I can think of that might suit your purpose.

You might be able to get away with using the S4M for this if you use the space where the graphics card usually sits. That is my plan eventually when I put together my NAS;

I believe 2 of the sky brackets might work for 4 3.5” if you stack them in that space.
