Are there any air coolers which fit in the NCASE, but that allow for decent overclocking?

I think the general consensus on optimized air cooling is the Noctua NH-U9S with 2 or 3 92mm fans blowing air out the back, and a 120mm fan mounted on the front half of the side bracket as intake. No idea how it'll cool a 3900. If you want more than that you're looking at a 240mm AIO.

Overclocking? Hmmm. Maybe a C14S, or the Thermalright Silver Arrow 130 with extra fans. I've had good luck with the Silver Arrow with my 8086k.

Is there a reason you're not considering a 240mm AIO?

Silver Arrow 130 worked really good for me in the Ncase M1.
I had to upgrade from the Noctua U9S, it couldn't cool the 3900x, even at stock speeds.

That being said.. why would you overclock the 3900x, it's pretty pointless.
It's pretty much pushing the limits of an Ncase M1 at stock.

Silver Arrow 130 vs C14S
Another good heatsink is TR Assassin King AK120 MINI (135mm height)

NH-C14, NH-C14S and Dark Rock TF users should face up a problem that - not all the ITX motherboards support the right angle that makes heatsink fins verticalize to rear case fan.
If the heatsink fins cannot be verticalized to rear case fan, then all the hot air cannot be exhausted actively.
