Hi everybody

I am looking for some information about building a pc case for a project.

There are some main questions:

1. Intel NUC or Mini-itx?
2. Active or passive cooling?
3. What about temperatures when the cpu is passively cooled? (35 to 65 watt tdp)
4. Is it better to cast, cnc-mill or forge a case when it should be made out of one piece?

Does the manufacturing process have an effect on the thermal conductivity if the cpu is passively cooled and the case used as heatsink?

Thanks

1 Depends on your use case
2 As above
3 Dependent on cooler and ventilation
4 If you have these resources, you should just buy a suitable case and move on unless you really want to learn by doing or can't find anything available that otherwise meets your needs
5 I would think that the case material and heatsink/connection to the case would play a bigger role than the manufacturing process
