Leave the scarry title, but i was browsing ebay today on looking for a new quadro gpu and something catched my eye.I was looking at a quadro m6000 from HP(not going to by it at that price lol) but on the photos of the box i saw a sign that stated:

This product contains a chemical known to the state of california to cause cancer.

Is this something new in the manufacturing process or has it been with us for a while? After googling a litle i found litle info but i think they are referening to lead material. So in by todays standarts, how is this still legal to come to the market?

It was more to the human touch of the back of the gpu XD Yeah,i know this is incredibly low but still where is the quality control.

Did you know semi skimmed milk contains titanium dioxide (white food/paint colourant) that is known to cause cancer in animals. I bet you ingest more of that in your lifetime than GPU's :D

and yes - there is too much legislation about things these days, which just makes it tougher to spot the actually important things as we get used to ignoring the warnings. :(

I think you will find this to be the case with most technology products these days, the only reason you are seeing this is because California has very strict rules about what type of information or disclaimers products must have printed on them for public sale. I got the same tag on a pair of boots I ordered online..

I moved to CA from England and was amazed that the legislation here is more ridiculous. Every business has a sign like this outside (making them all useless) including the lab where I work which actually does contain some very dangerous chemicals.
