Will the 2070 Rog Strix fit the Ncase M1 v6 with the new power button only io?

I saw that someone was able to fit a 2080 rog strix in the v5, inverting the bracket and disconnecting the rest of the io, but I understand that there was changes in the new one (https://hardforum.com/threads/ncase...n-first-post.1717132/page-687#post-1043987803)

According to Asus, the 2070 measures 30. 5cm x 13. 06 cm x 4. 89cm and the 2080 is 29.97cm x 13.04cm X 5.41cm.

I really want to use the 2070 strix since I was able to buy it for less than most simple 2060 super (cyberport.at) and I am looking for a quiet system.

This is my first sff build and the first since my 2500k 5 years ago, so I am acquiring all new parts (3700x, Asus b450i, 32GB Vengeance Lpx, Corsair sf750, data ssd, 2 noctua a12, used C14 and RTX gpu).

The 2070 is longer, but thinner. I haven’t tried it myself, but I suspect it will have similar issues due to the extra length of the shroud, even with the extra clearance. This is a card that might be a good candidate for removing the shroud and adding 2 120mm fans to the bottom of the M1 instead.

Thnaks, I might try that. My only worry is I will probably have to sell either the card, since the return period will be long over when the M1 arrives, or the case, since being in EU make it not worth to send it back.

Since it’s a 2.5 slot instead of a 2.75+ slot card, you‘ve got a bit more clearance than the 2080, but the extra length worries me. That extra 5mm could be make or break since it could be reaching into the space past the case’s frame in the front. Hard to tell from the diagrams.

Yeah, I think its a tough call to know ahead of time. But, I think worst case, the fan shroud is the only part that would prevent it from fitting. So I don’t think it’s a lost cause.

Cards over 2.2 slots (45mm) are limited to 280mm long with the front I/O ports in place. Without the ports, you gain an additional 10-20mm.

Additionally, the height of the Strix (130.6mm) combined with the length (305mm) would make for a difficult installation. For cards over 280mm long, the maximum height I would recommend is 125mm.

Thanks for the input Necere. If it is a difficult, but otherwise possible installation without mods, I will pull the trigger on the pre-order right now!

Otherwise I am thinking on the idea of removing the shroud and installing a couple of Noctua a12x25 that I already bought in the bottom of the case.

Do these pictures help to ascertain if any of the two possibilities are feasible?

Decided to exchange the Strix for a Gigabyte 2060 super Gaming. Hope this will fit well! For now, I built a system using the Sharkoon QB One while I wait for my Ncase order!

As my aging 2500k/Amd HD 7950 was showing its age and with my Nuc 54250 htpc starting to blue screen all the time I thought it was time to mash up the two system in just one in my first build in five years! https://i.vgy.me/bCK7p9.jpg

To finish it all Iwent the other way around and bought a monster Samsung c49rg90, good bye dual monitors!
