I wonder what internal layout the case has and why they mention x300 chipset. custom mobo or the stx from deskmini x300 with m2 -> pcie ribbon?

I wonder what the hell they expect it to be filled up with, especially since they reference the x300 chipset which hints towards a possible new, better equipped mini-stx motherboard. I mean, they had one of the smallest apu cases out there at less then 2 liters for a full set up. There's 4ish liter cases like the Velka 3 and K39 (and clones) that pack psu, gpu and regular mini-itx motherboard. What is Asrock using the other 5.94 liters for in the deskmini max?

3.5" HDD bay, 5.25" ODD bay. also my mistake, its not stx mobo as it has 4 ram slots, ... at one point on that page they mention u-dimms. did asrock rack have some spare parts?

Similar like my Deskmini DSX1 Project it supports a dedicated GPU but uses an custom designed mini-ITX size motherboard with normal PCIe 16x slot. Not sure about their internal layout but if the GPU sits also vertical in the case they may need some additional space at the bottom to access the GPU I/O. I guess that, plus the full size ODD bay might push the volume to 10L.

Presumably they've built onto this X300 mini-itx motherboard: https://www.asrock.com/news/index.nl.asp?iD=4675

But that begs the question: if they are bringing a 9 liter case to the party ... why would they bother making an x300 motherboard that supports a gpu, unless it is something special in stx-format? I mean, they have excellent b550 and x570 motherboards they could use if the x300 board is in a mini-itx formfactor.

must be another board, that one doesn't have 4 ram slots.
I guess the GPU is mounted horizontally, 20cm length restriction lines up with case depth of 22cm. vertical would require some cm clearance for bottom connectors and the odd bay seems to be at the top (optionally replaced by an 140mm aio rad?) which needs space too.

Strange beast for sure.

I was waiting for something similar. for it professionals more cores are always better for code compilation and microservices architecture. but current solutions in the market are more catered toward PC enthsiast and ballooning the cost a lot for a 5900x or 5950x this solution from asrock fills that gap. current x300 is not upto the mark and support only 8 core cpus from amd.

For those of you watching that clip. So the PSU and Radiator function as intakes, blowing medium to hot air onto the cpu and gpu coolers? I mean, it can probably work okay-ish, but they've only considered intake. Where does the hot air expel? Seems like it'll be a hotbox deskmini max.

The board is pretty interesting though, extended mini-itx form factor 17x20. With front i/o hardmounted on the board. That can potentially be cool if used in another formfactor layout. Maybe someone will design a sandwich case for this board @REVOCCASES ? Preferably to combine with the HDPlex 400 watt combo?
