sadly power usage has only been going UP for PC parts... in my opinion, nothing really groundbreaking has happened in SFF since Deskmini GTX/RX (R.I.P).
GaN mentioned above might be the only technical advancement for SFF recently...
(aside from apple's ARM chips, which are an incredible leap...

but just a warning, they are not 100% rigid, theres still some "spring" and flex to them. nothing too crazy, just letting you know if you want zero movement you'll need something thicker/heavier
i didnt want a specialized solution since i might change cases and want to be able to have multiple machines, so i just built a shelf with 2 steel shelf mounts. at max it fits an NR200 on its side, or 2 smaller machines like mac mini + deskmini etc.

my setup is basically like this, except i recently upgraded to a m1 max macbook so i can have a nice GPU on the mac side too. I dock to the desk or use RDP to work on the PC.
SFF has been stagnant and boring the last few years, Asrock really gave it a good shot with the deskmini GTX/RX, but...
i stumbled on this completely by accident today, after waiting all year for it... i was about to cave and just grab a regular U12 or even a dark rock tf2
it being sold out the same day makes it the craziest bit of luck :laughing:
