Power Supply Silverstone Discussion (Split from NJ450-SXL Thread)

Absolutely! I have just bought one and very happy with it. Even though the ST45SF-G that it replaced was still working fine (albeit with the fan mod), I thought I should try one of the newer models. I have always been a bit of a Silverstone SFX PSU fanboy, but recently it's impossible to argue...

Prototype The world most flexible SFF case? LOUQE Ghost S1

From the "2000 words" Patrick talks about samples arriving in March of the remaining "unapproved" components that need complex tooling. It's hard to be confident of May shipping if these samples have not yet arrived. Especially since there is also no information about plans for the production of...

Kimera Industries Project Nova: 17 liters of 5-slot mATX goodness

No, sorry. I stopped buying any "clear" flexible tubing after seeing so many types dull, cloud, or yellow (within weeks usually). You always hope the next one you buy will be different :)

Kimera Industries Project Nova: 17 liters of 5-slot mATX goodness

Thicker is not always better with radiators. At "quiet" fan speeds the ST30 performs better than the XT45. Only when you get up to 1200rpm does the XT45 even equal the cooling performance of the ST30. I've never seen the coolant in a watercooling loop reach 40C, let alone 51C. Even in my...

Prebuilt MSI Launches New SFF Prebuilt, the Nightblade MI

What you say is true Phuncz. Too many times in discussions about fans people aren't interested in how come one fan is quieter than another, RPM v voltage curve is too advanced a concept. Just stick in any old fan of the right size. It will work of course, you might not even notice any issue for...

    News Asus ROG Z170 lineup

I still don't believe those were solder blobs, just bent/crushed metal from the female bits inside the connector housing. As I recall the post(s) the user said he first tried to fit the daughterboard, and when it didn't go in easily, only then he looked inside. So I'm thinking a couple of the...

Motherboard SFF-Forum's Design a board thread

EKWB terminals are not easy to make yourself. The connection to the block is a rounded rectangle cut by a 2.5 or 3mm routing bit, and sealed with an unusual oblong and thin o-ring. (See e.g. second picture here https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-fc-terminal-dual-serial). But looking at Blk's photo, how...

    Hi all

Hi Wayne. Glad to see you here. I really enjoyed your build log for Lean and Green, most unique design I'd seen at the time. Still would have it in my top 10 :)

    PowerMac G5 - NAS case

I like your work on the drive tray rails and re-use of original motherboard to avoid empty I/O panel :) Obviously, out of principle, I have to mention that it's quite a big case for 6 drives ;)

I gutted an old hard drive for some secret agent accessories. Foam is hard to cut straight. I drilled out the screws so the top will be held on by velcro. The gun has a 8GB USB memory stick. The Aston Martin "car keys" contain a hidden camera with an 8GB microSD card.
