Nah, even directly under it, it's still lagging. The old computer I tried it on is further away and it's 100% lag free on it.

Have a look at Veeam. They have a free version for desktop use: https://www.veeam.com/windows-endpoint-server-backup-free.html This should be able to do a bare metal restore.

Thanks all, @SoulTribunal You seem to have to go through their warranty returns service and prove you need it. But I'm sure that could take months. I might just buy the cheapest one through amazon.
