Production M2426 - Evolution in Cable Management

I'm a bit late to the party, but I finally got around to swapping out the ATX cable on my nCase m1 build to the M2426. Corsair SF750 platinum PSU with i7-10700k @ 5.2GHz. The original M2426 caused my fan sensors and other things to not work properly, but this replacement seems to work just...

News New chinese cpu, waterblock-pump BARROW

The tiny reservoir seemed to do ok, combined with the clear tube which I was thinking of as a temporary "reservoir extension". The pump is strong enough that it would recirculate the bubbles, but I found that repeatedly varying the pump speed from fast (to blow out the air from the rest of the...

News New chinese cpu, waterblock-pump BARROW

This is actually my first water cooled build, so I don't have much to compare against. As shown in the photo I posted, I attached a length of clear tubing to the fill port and ran the pump slowly while filling. It was hard enough to keep it from running dry with the tube that I don't think it...

News New chinese cpu, waterblock-pump BARROW

Here's a pic of my setup. Originally tried PE 240 rad, but it was so tight that the koolance fittings would have pressed into the fan slightly. Replaced it with a 240GTS and it fits fine. Also bleeding using the same clear tube method. The pump seems quiet, and is easy to run with a simple 12v...

News New chinese cpu, waterblock-pump BARROW

I think I just answered my own question... found another Barrow pump on Amazon, and it has an image that says "clockwise enter manual mode, counterclockwise enter PWM mode."

News New chinese cpu, waterblock-pump BARROW

Mine just arrived today after a wild ride to another metro area and back. Looks pretty good so far. I chose the PWM option when checking out on aliexpress, but the cable actually has both a PWM connector and the rotary knob in addition to the molex. Anyone with more watercooling experience...

News New chinese cpu, waterblock-pump BARROW

I have one on order as well. It's been stuck in trans-Pacific limbo for a week now, but hopefully will pop up on this side of US customs soon.

Discussion How would you power a sata SSD using thin mini itx motherboard DC-Input?

From what I've seen, the manufacturer documentation usually doesn't specify a maximum power draw. I can say I'm powering 4 Samsung SSD SATA drives off a similar connector on a Supermicro server motherboard. I would be careful about powering spinning drives, but if only 2 or so seems like it...

Discussion How would you power a sata SSD using thin mini itx motherboard DC-Input?

On the right side, there is a header labeled SATA_PWR1. You would need to find the specs for the connector and pinout, or maybe ASRock makes an adapter cable.

Unnamed - Slim PIO based build

Actually, I was looking at my pictures, and the 6 pin port is labeled PCIE_6P, so may use the PCIE pinout.

Unnamed - Slim PIO based build

@Goatee no I never tried powering via the 6 pin connector. Couple thoughts: The position of the "rounded" pins vs square pins may give some clues. I would guess it can handle a standard motherboard EPS pinout like my Supermicro Epyc 3251 server board. If you have an electrical continuity...

Advice Optimum Tech - Ncase M1 Dual Radiator Clone with available parts

Sounds to me like you have incomplete contact between the head spreader and water block. There are many schools of thought on applying TIM, but what I normally do is use a spreader to create a thin layer across the whole CPU.

    FanlessPC Custom Build

Creating more open space above the heat sink has helped a bit, especially when the central air conditioning is blowing on it, although it will still thermal throttle mainly on the VRM while under lod. I had left enough room to add some 30mm fans to circulate air inside the case, but next step...

    FanlessPC Custom Build

Sorry for the long time with no update. I finished this build a while back and have been using it for 2-3 months. On the plus side, I like how the build turned out visually. Some components I had to re-build a couple times while I refined the process. With no fans, this computer runs totally...
