    SFF Workshop - It's a thing! It's alive!

Thanks! This worked for me as well, but I think I was slightly too rough as it definitely left some scratches. Anyway, better than before!

    SFF Workshop - It's a thing! It's alive!

Thanks for posting, always neat to see other work spaces! It looks like I have the same monitor mounts as you do. Mine have this logo at the base on the part that's sitting on the desk. Did yours have that as well? If so, how did you remove it?

Cooling Noctua NH-C14 (non-S) fan replacement options

Found one on eBay from Canada, guess I got lucky. Paid $62 USD total including shipping. For modern CPU sockets (like LGA2011 & 2055) you will need to get the Noctua NM-I2011 mounting kit! It's $8 on Amazon or you can get it for free from Noctua, but it does ship from Austria so will take a few...

Cooling Noctua NH-C14 (non-S) fan replacement options

Thanks! I don't know how I missed that (too many BIOS options?). It's a lot more quiet now that I've moved it to that header and tweaked some settings. For now I'll keep these fans I think unless some of the other fans would just perform a lot better (lower noise for the same cooling).

Cooling Noctua NH-C14 (non-S) fan replacement options

Hey thanks for responding! I'm running the ASRock X299E-ITX/ac (https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/X299E-ITXac/index.asp) and so far it's not been playing ball. I'm going to keep trying to get it to do something but may want to replace because of the other reasons as well.

Cooling Noctua NH-C14 (non-S) fan replacement options

Picked up a NH-C14 from ebay and would like to replace the fans because they're getting old and are 3-pin (NF-P14 FLX). Ideally I'd like to get a black/grey one at least for the top as it can be seen through the M1 side panel. Has anyone replaced the fans with 4-pin PWM models? If so which ones...

    x299 M1

It looks like you ended up side mounting the PSU? Is that with the M1 ATX bracket and then an ATX SFX adapter?

News Asus Maximus Gene XI - The Return of the King

I agree those right angle headers are extremely annoying. I'd love to hear of any board at this size or smaller for 8th/9th gen Intel (or latest AMD) that has USB 3.1 gen 2 and the expansion options I've mentioned above (x16 for GPU, x4 for 10 Gbe, x1 or more for WiGig and 2x M.2).

Power Supply SilverStone SX650-G and SX500-G review

Have you had a chance to try this? I'm eyeing the 650W unit for a similar setup.

News Asus Maximus Gene XI - The Return of the King

I'm somewhat surprised by this. Perhaps what I'm trying to accomplish is different than what most are looking for. Here's why I'm seriously looking at this board: Smaller is better, this is SFF after all :) Need 10 Gbe. They refuse to put it on the mATX/ITX boards, so need a x4 slot. It's nice...

    M2 to 10G

I just put in a single 16 GB of ECC RAM right now and will add more over time as the machine gets set up with VM's etc. So far the mainboard has been great. I think BIOS reset itself once, but that was with a lot of testing with the M.2 adapter and riser cables etc., so not entirely sure what...
