Power Supply FSP FSP500-30AS Modular Flex PSU from GEEEK, anyone have one?

There's not much to it. @dukedevil0 nailed it in his post where the source of the 5v rail was deduced. See https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/fsp-fsp500-30as-modular-flex-psu-from-geeek-anyone-have-one.19238/post-284388 I soldered two salvaged cables (atx female pin already crimped) to...

    Closed [US-NY] XWorks x32

Cool case, but I have to pass. I'm looking for the upside-down motherboard layout of the XWorks specifically so I can experiment with a MicroATX + 244mm GPU layout. Appreciate the offer though!

    Closed [US-NY] XWorks x32

Looking to pick up an XWorks x32. Perhaps someone here picked up one during the last Newegg sale and wants to move on from it (or never built it :D)? Budget $120-130 shipped

Power Supply FSP FSP500-30AS Modular Flex PSU from GEEEK, anyone have one?

Were you shorting PWR_ON + Ground permanently or with a power switch connected directly to it? According to that thread, and the adapter they linked on Amazon that's what they did to essentially make the +12vdc always on like a +12v standby (which as you mentioned, the FSP doesn't have).

Log Mini PC for work from RVZ03

I have two RVZ03s, an old RGB, and newer ARGB version. I was able to fit a Zotac 2080 ti AMP which is a long 2.5 (almost 3) slot card with dimensions 308mm x 113mm x 57mm (12.13in x 4.45in x 2.24in). The 2x slim 15mm fans the case comes with still fit too. Cooler clearance is right, a NH-L12S...

Discussion Help me make sense of GPU sizes

This is a fun topic. GPU sizes have crept up inverse to the way rental car companies have downgraded car sizes (passing mid-size sedans off as full). 312mm is probably a fair representation of “average” full size card length these days. The card height is too conservative though. Outside of...

Discussion Reducing wiring of the 24-pin connector

What's "cheap" so I'm looking in the right price range? I was thinking of getting a Flir from amazon warehouse as it seems those dip down into the low 300s. Interesting, would I be able to feel the motherboard side pins from the back of the motherboard? Otherwise if you mean quickly powering off...

Discussion Reducing wiring of the 24-pin connector

I was very surprised too. Most of the CPU power is surely coming from the PSU's 8-pin EPS connection using 18AWG Cable Matters brand extensions. I have been running the main ATX connection with 12 wires and pins (10 from the original connector PS_ON, 5VSB, 2x 3.3v, 2x 12v, 4 ground + 2x 5v...

Discussion Reducing wiring of the 24-pin connector

Funny you mention that, I believe that's part of the point here with these SFF builds, either selecting hardware with low power draw or configuring for lower power draw (under-volt, capping power limits lower, or even downclocking). Someone on these forums and building with this wire reduction...

Discussion Reducing wiring of the 24-pin connector

One thing I'm wary of, is some motherboards have a USB-C port that supports USB-PD. above 15w, it seems the potential is there for devices to draw 3-20a@5v. If this is really happening then having the 5 wires/pins for 5v (and more grounds) could be important. It could still be a concern even if...

Discussion Reducing wiring of the 24-pin connector

Yes, the J-HACK M2426 OP was mentioning is basically like a picoPSU that gets 12v from another PSU (for the purposes of wire reduction). Since it was out of stock, I was considering getting another one that was pre-wired to get 12v from a PCI-E 6-pin, it would require soldering PWR-ON to get...

Discussion Reducing wiring of the 24-pin connector

https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/fsp-fsp500-30as-modular-flex-psu-from-geeek-anyone-have-one.19238/post-284807 I was running with 11 wires in the post above. No power ok was needed. I could have tried removing ground and the extra 3.3v and 5v Currently have 12 wires (got a 24 pin...

    Sleeving & Crimping Thread

Some years of inflation later...is the consensus still the same on this if working only with PSU cables on occasion? As of today it looks like the Molex service grade tool is around $75-80 and the Engineer PA-21 is around $45. Is it a noticeable leap in quality and ease of crimps that would...

Power Supply FSP FSP500-30AS Modular Flex PSU from GEEEK, anyone have one?

That's pretty cool, I never thought about transplanting to use a bigger fan. I've been trying to find a flex to tfx bracket but I have yet to see one (mostly see TFX to other sizes). I was thinking of picking up an Antec VSK2000, for variety, to house the system I was fiddling with but I want to...
