Yep, I installed Corsair xr5 420 in v1. You can connect cables comfortably after, even the mains cable. For v1 I had to drill mounting holes myself, but thats already done in v2. Honestly, v2 is vastly superior.
But you have to understand that 40 degree delta between cpu and water is normal for zen 3. You wont find the block thats much better. You should focus on lowering water temp.
With 420 rad for 9900k and 3080 i have about 14 degree delta water temp(39 total water temp), but thats pulling...
40 degrees water temp is very high from just cpu. 40 degree delta for 7nm cpu is perfectly normal. It's your radiator that is too weak, not the cpu block.
But I can agree its kind of unfortunate that you cant pay additionally for another mounting mechanism, whats the problem with that really? That was one of the reasons I got rid of mine, fortunately without any loss.

In the reddit post there are detailed specifications for both. S620 is basically bigger NR200 that can handle Noctua D15, S610 is the smaller version, that can only fit U9S. At this price, I think it's a missed opportunity.
