The die won't be the issue, it's mainly the position of the caps and chokes as I have to mill slots in the base for them. I'd be suprised if they're identical so I woulnd't count on it being compatible.
I can offer an A4000 SFF version if someone can get me the card though :D
I received the official availabity announcement mail from Nvidia at the 3th of April and it has been on ShopBLT ever since. IIRC, it was a bit cheaper at the time though.
If you search for the PNY part number, you'll find a couple other retailers: VCNRTX4000ADALP-PB
All Yocto's have been shipped!
The first ones are already starting to arrive. It's important to carefully follow the building process described on this page: https://n3rdware.com/knowledge-base/how-build-your-yocto
Let me know if anyone is in need of assistance!
I'm using this cable with my A2000, it supports 4K@120hz bandwidth but unfortunately no G-sync: https://www.amazon.nl/-/en/gp/product/B094XDDRL6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So since the previous week, Yocto's have started to ship! I've now shipped abouth 3/4th of the orders including a Yocto or Yocto+ and the remaining ones will be shipped shortly after this weekend. Then I just have a couple of orders left that containonly the heatsink and the batch will be...
So I've improved my manufacturing method by mounting my Makita to my CNC. This means that I can reliably produce these at a much higher pace. I'm currently stocking up on some heatsinks and it looks like I'll be launching a next batch much earlier than anticipated (probably in about 2 weeks)...
Of course, it's how I set it up too and it's very flexible. But I can't help but feeling that it's not a 'complete' standalone product because you're still depending on external connections and software. Perhaps I'm just nit picking too much :D
Did you manage to use the original fan header while getting around the 3k RPM minimum?
I've been thinking of ways to use the header myself without this minimum but can't get around it. AFAIK, the firmware keeps upping the PWM duty cycle until either the tachometer reports 3k RPM or the duty...
Having a lower minimum RPM would cost them nothing and would at least solve the idle noise. The quality of the thermal paste and pads is also very low. But then again, we need motivation to make projects like this :D
Looking great! I'm a bit sceptical about the shunt mod though. You're going to pull more than 75W out of the PCIe slot, which may not be the best idea?
I would go with the Aliexpress vandal switches that @BaK linked. You're looking for a momentary 16mm switch with the LED working at 3-6V. You'll need to custom wire them though, because the premade connectors will make then interfere with the psu again. This is easily done by soldering them, if...
That's a very nice thing to say! I've indeed been spending a lot of my time on this project lately so I hope people will be as happy as I am with the case!
Due to a cancelation, I have one spare Yocto+ available. It's a couple millimeters taller than the regular Yocto which allows for a 2.5inch drive and 48mm cpu cooler. Price is €154,99. Pm me if you're interested!
Edit: case is gone!
