Log Custom loop FormD T1 - 7800X3D w/ Modultra block and RTX 3090 (w/ stock cooler)

Mainly? Client request. I have a repeat client who changes PCs every couple of months (and I'm talking $3K and up systems). He decided to sell this one, and thought it would sell better with hardline tubing. It's fine though - he can afford it, he pays well, and gives me a chance to do a lot of...

Log Custom loop FormD T1 - 7800X3D w/ Modultra block and RTX 3090 (w/ stock cooler)

This was a client build that we'd initially done with pneumatic soft tubing. Client decided he wanted to switch to hard tubing (which is what I'd wanted to do in the first place). Space is ridiculously tight in the FormD, but with good planning it works out. We didn't block the GPU because a: a...

Log SSUPD Meshlicious w/dual 280 rad custom loop

Recently collaborated with another local builder, managed to fit two 280mm radiators with a hardline loop into a Meshlicious. Always interesting to see what you can fit into an SFF build. A custom bracket from IceManCooler allowed us to mount the rear rad. A few well-placed telescopic fittings...

    Log G.Skill Z5i case with 5800X3D | Strix X570-I | RTX 2080 Ti | custom loop with EK hardware

Thank you! It took SO much modding to the case to get the pump/res, rad, and tubing to all fit, and cable management was challenging. I know the case is kind of borderline SFF size, but I thought this group may appreciate it.

    Log G.Skill Z5i case with 5800X3D | Strix X570-I | RTX 2080 Ti | custom loop with EK hardware

I bought this case when it released, absolutely love the look. Unfortunately the GPU ventilation is terrible; anything over a 3060/6600 level card overheats. I just recently got comfortable enough with custom loops to make this build work. The tempered glass is hinged on either side like doors...

Log My third build in the FormD T1 - air cooled 7800X3D, RTX 4090

Thanks, good to know. So many changes to keep up with! Worst for me is the damn cables - the new 12VHPWR cable uses different pins and techniques, and now Corsair has their Shift line that apparently uses different pins as well. But hey, keeps it from getting boring!

Log My third build in the FormD T1 - air cooled 7800X3D, RTX 4090

This was a commission for a very tech savvy client, so other than a -30 undervolt and stability testing I left a lot of the nitty gritty to him (at his request). Running CB R23 multi core it hung out at 89-90C. HWInfo didn't register it as thermal throttling, but I suspect it may have been to...

Question about intake fan in Evolv Shift

TL;DR: 120mm intake fan in bottom, 25mm or 15mm thickness? Wondering what size fan would be best as the intake fan in the bottom of my Shift. A 120x25mm gives good flow and better pressure than a 120x15mm. But I'm wondering if the 25mm thick fan impedes air intake through the bottom of the...

Looking for input in cooling and airflow in an Evolv Shift case with dual AIOs.

Good point, my description may not have been very clear. Yes, this is how mine is set up.

Looking for input in cooling and airflow in an Evolv Shift case with dual AIOs.

TLDR: Anyone using a fan arrangement other than intake on bottom, exhaust on top, for the Evolv Shift case with dual AIOs? Parts list here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/grimmwrath/saved/#view=bJfzMp . As anyone that's built in an Evolv Shift knows, the airflow is severely limited, and temps...

    Cooler Master Elite 130 mod

It's not that hard. If you're like me, the first few you do will suck, but it gets easier with practice. I point everyone to Lutro0's channel on YouTube, he does great tutorials on cables and sleeving.

    Cooler Master Elite 130 mod

Thanks! I've tried shortening and sleeving a semi-modular PSU, but it's nerve-wracking. If you screw up a cable you're making from scratch, you just start over. Mess up one of those, though, different story altogether. I just make it a point now to only buy fully-modular, if at all possible.

    Cooler Master Elite 130 mod

My son wanted me to clean up the wiring in his Elite 130...it was overheating because of wires getting caught in the CPU cooler. I might have gotten a little carried away with the job... Thought you guys might appreciate the results.
