    S4 MINI Classic (S4M-C)

Unless you are unlucky like me where there is some kind of thread lock on the screws... I ended up just resting my HDPLEX on a slight angle over top of the nuts, not ideal but it worked out fine.

See the link I posted above, in that thread he benched it against the NH-L9i and it was significantly better in comparison.

    S4 MINI Classic (S4M-C)

Not to mention it is one great big chunk of copper instead of aluminium which of course comes at a price... but for the enthusiast I think this will be the way to go from now on, I am going to give it a try in my pending Sentry build and if all goes well I will do the same in my S4 mini.

Cooling Best Low-Profile CPU Cooler on the Market?

    Well LP53 + NF-A9x14PWM certainly blows NH-L9i out of the water https://hardforum.com/threads/thermolab-cooltek-lp53-review.1923635/

    S4 MINI Classic (S4M-C)

This is a very interesting cooling alternative for NH-L9i, especially for those running K cpus. https://hardforum.com/threads/thermolab-cooltek-lp53-review.1923635/

    S4 MINI Classic (S4M-C)

Just thought I'd pop in to say I recently put the Gigabyte GTX1070 in my S4 mini and it was relatively simple process for anyone else considering it, I did have to go out and buy a dremel of course but it was well worth it to power my newly acquired Vive.

Simple Dual Pico PSU Set Up

I have no problem running 84W CPU + 120W GPU + RAM + M2 + HDD on 240W power brick however I do run it on the Dell 330W at home when its on all day because the brick is a lot cooler than the Dell 240W but not as portable in slim laptop bag, the power bricks can usually handle well over their...

Simple Dual Pico PSU Set Up

You can power 960 + i5 6500 on a single 240W brick easily with an HDPLEX, I have i5 4590 which is more power hungry than your suggested i5 6500 paired with a 960 and it runs perfectly fine with a 19v 240W Dell brick. If you want a Pico style DC-ATX that supports wide range then check out the...

    S4 MINI Classic (S4M-C)

I just gave up completely trying to get those studs out and put the HDPLEX in on an angle, made the fit tighter but managed to get everything in eventually.

Power Supply HDPLEX 250W alternative - What would you like to see?

All indications point to the power bricks at this time, I don't know that any innovation in the DC-ATX boards will help if the power brick is tripping. @hdplex post about his customer switching to Dell 330W is very interesting, it suggests that perhaps the Firebird 350W may not be the best...

Power Supply HDPLEX 250W alternative - What would you like to see?

Here is some feedback from Frank about component choice.

Power Supply HDPLEX 250W alternative - What would you like to see?

Well I guess the idea is to pretty much have a drop in alternative for the HDPLEX with minor changes which a few small cases already support in its current dimensions, I don't know much about this kind of thing but I imagine there aren't many configurations of components to achieve that and the...

Power Supply HDPLEX 250W alternative - What would you like to see?

No coil whine with the HDPLEX for me either, it could also just be the pairing of the specific components and the HDPLEX you have. I am not sure the X3 will do much better with the R9 Nano but we won't know until we try. I think if the next round of ITX cards have similar problems we will find a...

Power Supply HDPLEX 250W alternative - What would you like to see?

System testing is for me and you to do QinX :). Prototype arrived yesterday so I will give it a test drive this week with the hardware I have and also perform a replacement in my S4 mini to see how it fits with the connectors as is, I have a feeling we might need to rethink the connector design...
