Selling [UK] HP Pro 3505 & HP Compaq Pro 4300 SFF

I rescued some old machines my work were throwing out, so there are some parts going spare if anyone's interested. Total haul is: 1 x Dell Optiplex 3020 2 x HP Pro 3505 2 x HP Compaq Pro 4300 SFF At this point I'll most likely keep the Optiplex for the Mrs and one of the 4300's to...

    What did you do today?

If you're into true crime, this was a great read. Looking forward to see what Michael Mann does with the screen adaptation, should be good.

    What did you do today?

I've got 2 x HP Pro 3505, 2 x HP Compaq Pro 4300 SFF and 1 x Dell Optiplex 3020 I'm thinking I may keep the Dell as either a 'new' computer for my missus or as a sandbox to experiment with, and one of the 4300s as a long-awaited home server. Possibly one other if I can find a use case for it...

    Trade rules

Yup I'm UK. Work have taken the HDDs out (GDPR etc) so just have to find some decent NAS drives (WD Reds maybe?) and I'm set. Oh and decide on a distro / start learning some Linux! Woo thank you! I'll crack the lids on 'em this week and find out what lurks within...

    What did you do today?

Rescued these from the bin at work I've been meaning to build a NAS / home server for a while now so quite serendipitous! There may be some parts (and possibly a whole unit) going spare if anyone's interested. I'll start a new thread in the Trade section when I find out what I have here.

CPU HP 6300 Pro SFF 6-pin power connector wiring

I've just rescued a 4300 from work so might be able to help if it's at all similar. I should have took a pic before I initially stripped everything out but if I recall correctly the P2 went out to daisy chain SATA power?

    Trade rules

Thank you - my initial thought was as I wouldn't be asking anything in return it's not strictly within a dictionary definition of trade, but I'm conscious of the overarching spirit of trade restrictions here (for good reason) and good community management. It's amazing what some people throw...

    Trade rules

I'm mindful of the forum rules, but how open is the interpretation of 'trade'? I've saved some machines at work from going to landfill and have some parts going spare; I'm happy to give them away but not sure if this would (broadly) be defined as 'trade'?

    News HP shows the Z2 Mini G9 - a 3.2L SFF Workstation (up to A2000 & i9-12900K)

With the addition of a VESA mount this would turn my head. That's a lot of heat to exhaust though.

    What did you do today?

I love receiving these calls. I try and keep them on the line for as long as possible, going along with it initially then introducing and gradually increasing the outlandish and absurd to gauge their reaction. Try and scam my grandmother, that's an act of war 😈 Recently it's robocalls my...

    What did you do today?

True, even the Realforce full-sizes are 104-key. That big return key must be an anachronism these days :) For everything else 60% looks to rule the roost. I haven't seen it confirmed in any official English language sources yet, it looks like a wireless R3 may be on the way? Alkaline batteries...

    What did you do today?

Same. Prob doesn't help I'd like mine to be 105-key and wireless. I'm one of those troglodytes who likes their rubber dome KB-9805, and aside from this madlad as far as I can tell custom Topre's are pretty much nonexistent. My feeling is it'd be one of those projects that's about as close to...

Discussion HELP... Need advice on Flex 1u PSU \ Cables.

The FlexGuru is OEM, they're only available in 250W and 300W though. As far as I'm aware the only modular OEM Flexes out there are FSP and Seasonic. Otherwise for the Enhances there's YTC on Taobao, and another modder whose name currently eludes me.

I never thought I'd effuse about a chair of all things, but the Steelcase Gesture really is something special isn't it? Cost more than my first car, but worth every penny. I'd suffered searing back pain for years using a cheapo Argos chair, but can do 12 hour shifts in this thing no problem. I...
