    RTX 3070 Options

@dondan, what is the idea behind removing the plastic sheet? my experience so far is that it acts as a bit of a thermal insulator, especially with 30x0fe. without it case, psu and also cpu get some temp increase.

    DAN A4 V4.1 build with Ryzen 5600X

NH-L9a has a much better fan than Black Ridge's stock. If comparing with stock fans, Black Ridge is considerably louder at the same performance level. I have both NH-L9a-AM4 and Black Ridge but have not had a chance to compare them directly. I do have a C7 Cu that used to cool the same CPU as...

    RTX 3070 Options

That is something I am wary of. Having tried that previously that plastic does seem to act as an insulator to some degree and that was without hot air blowing through cutout in the card like 3070FE does. PSU ran somewhat hotter without the plastic (not much but enough to not stop the fan when...

    RTX 3070 Options

Pulled the GPU out of case and it runs its fans at 2000 rpm in the worst case scenario, so yeah, 3000-series FEs really do not like their backside blocked. Considering the air 3070FE pushes out, I really do not want to remove the plastic sheet. Or turn the PSU around. What do you mean by stand...

    RTX 3070 Options

Got a 3070FE. This really does not work well in A4. I suspect it has to do with the blowthrough hole being against flat of the case and sides of FE are mostly blocked so air has nowhere to go. Turning PSU over sounds suspicious. I am not very willing to pump large amounts of heat through the...

Planning v2 build with Blackridge, concerns w/ RAM & Motherboard compatibility questions/issues

Interesting. I did not do a full fitting with A12x15 because I do not have VLP RAM. When trying it in place without RAM on board and without screwing the cooler down did not see anything that would interfere. What is blocking the fan, VRM heatsink?

Looking for a beautiful mITX case, with an ODD slot?

In Win 901 is beatiful but it does not fit 240mm radiator - easily, you can always mount it out back, backpack style. If you want higher-end/hotter components, cooling is a bit of an issue. It only has 120mm fan in (from the hole in the bottom front past the connectors with some effort needed...

Strix Z370-I? Blackridge will fit on that without any issues.

CPU Best 65w intel cpu in the market?

how much of a consideration is budget and how much are you willing to tweak? the absolute best option is to make sure your motherboard has power limit options in the bios working as they should, taking a full-power cpu and limiting it to set tdp (65w in this case) and undervolting it as much as...

Prototype DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

rdimm (r - registered) is not a good idea unless you have a board that explicitly supports it. udimm (u - unregistered) is what you need to go for in most cases. ecc is an addition question on top of that. crucial does have udimm version of the same memory, still with ecc though - ct16g4xfd8266

Memory VLP Ram & Black Ridge Compatibility w/ Z390

cost is not necessarily the biggest problem with these innodisk modules. availability with shipping to random countries is a big one. i am in eu but cannot find a single retailer that has these and no other place willing to ship them here. well, technically willing but at an exorbitant cost.

Memory Very low profile DDR4 ram

looks like am4 boards and ryzens seem to handle ecc just fine in general. how about intel? will these ecc sticks work with a normal motherboard that obviously doesn't list ecc support. specifically, i have an i5 8400 on rog strix z370-i. considering it but i am just too unsure about pulling the...
